Have you ever thought about launching a podcast for either yourself or your client?

Not sure where to start? You’ve come to the right place.

According to Edison Research, podcasts are the fastest growing media form. Podcasting is one of the most effective ways to build an audience online, engage followers and grow your business.

Podcasts are an excellent way of connecting with some of the world’s most interesting people and and their stories and experience. Podcasts have the enviable position of being able to have in depth conversations with best-selling authors, entrepreneurs, TV personalities, athletes and influencers in a way that engages people in a way that no other medium can.

In addition to this the content generated during one episode can be repurposed in many different ways and can be a potent part of your content marketing strategy.

Why doesn’t everyone have a podcast, then?

The process of getting started can feel quite daunting.

  • What equipment and software should you use?
  • How do you land interviews with big name guests?
  • Where do you host your podcast? In fact, what does “hosting” your podcast even mean?
  • How do you get your show into iTunes and other podcast places?
  • How do you promote your show so people actually listen to it?

During this course led by one of London’s leading podcast hosts we will cover the simple steps from properly planning to launching and growing a successful podcast.

About the Instructor

Kobi Omenaka

Podcaster, Digital Marketing Consultant and Startup Mentor

The Guardian’s “The Business Podcast”, The Kobestarr Digital Podcast, The Wire: Stripped Flixwatcher

Kobi is a prolific podcaster and recently worked with The Guardian newspaper and media group as host on the “Meet The Mentor” series of podcasts, where he interviewed notable brands and entrepreneurs such as Cath Kidston, Jo Fairley (Green and Blacks) and Lord Bilimoria (Cobra Beer).

As an independent podcaster, he has also launched several shows, including with “The Wire: Stripped”, which hit #1 in both the iTunes “TV and Film” chart and the “Culture” chart. He is an engaged part of the podcast community in the UK in helping to launch the “British Podcast Awards” in 2017 and being an admin on the 35000-strong “Podcasters Support Group”

Kobi started the award-winning podcast network Stripped Media in 2020 and in that time they have worked with publishers such as Spotify, The BBC and companies such as P&G, Picturehouse Cinemas, and BSI (British Standards Institute)

Kobi’s background is as a Chemical Engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry. He completed his 2nd Master’s degree in Social Media (MA) from the University of Salford, Manchester, whilst working full-time in Norway.

He enrolled in the Social Media Masters purely due to his fascination with the subject matter and wasn’t expecting it to lead to a career change! After finishing the course, he was approached for help with Digital Marketing and Social Media on various projects for companies and charities in the UK and Norway. This social media consultancy work started life as an “interesting side hustles” but grew to engage him in the evenings and weekends.

The “big push” into freelancing full-time came from the drop in the Oil and Gas market resulting in job losses but, more importantly, the perfect opportunity to work in an industry he loves. Kobi attributes his current success in marketing to his first-ever podcast, “The Kobestarr Digital podcast”

Kobi primarily works as a freelance digital marketing consultant and works with established companies such as Amazon, CitiBank, Amnesty International and The Guardian to startups and charities at all stages of growth.
