As Managing Director of the CMA, I work with content marketers from across the world, including publishers, agencies, and in-house creators. Our global community is dedicated to advancing the industry through shared learning and thought leadership, as well as showcasing great work at our awards and networking events. These events provide members with opportunities to showcase their expertise and connect with peers, covering a diverse range of topics. More recently, we’ve started work on how we can expand globally further the CMA’s reach, whether through events, thought leadership initiatives, or participation in the International Content Marketing Awards.

Dan Davey, CMA

Daniel Davey


Dan has been in the media, marketing and technology sector for almost 30 years, and been an active member of the CMA management team since 2017. He was the Founder and CEO of Progressive Content, which he launched in 2010, and built up to be the UK’s largest B2B specialist content provider and a top-10 content and technology agency, before its acquisition by GlobalData plc in May 2020 and its integration into GlobalData Marketing Solutions.

Between 2020 to 2023 he was the Managing Director of M&A at GlobalData, working within the corporate finance team and completing on a range of deals across the data & intelligence, and media divisions, and leading on the integration and value-creation strategies.

From January 2024 Dan has been a strategic advisor to Private Equity firms, assisting with acquisition and due-diligence process, and operational strategies to help scale and grow portfolio businesses, alongside working as a Non-Exec Director. He became the CMA Chairman in January 2022.

With nearly 15 years’ experience in content marketing agencies, she’s an award-winning client services lead, who’s worked across a broad range of UK and international brands including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Cathay Pacific, Shangri-La, Swire Group, and The Hong Kong Jockey Club. She believes in delivering insight-driven, targeted content strategies that drive tangible brand and commercial results for her clients. Alongside growing client relationships, she thrives on nurturing the teams within Cedar to unlock their potential.

Darren Burroughs, Sticky

Darren began his career as a graduate planner buyer for now defunct media agency Optimedia back in 2001, and went on to enjoy creative, commercial and leadership roles spanning some of the media, publishing and marketing industries’ biggest names. His current role as Managing Director of Sticky sees him running a full-service content marketing agency which aligns with well-worn mantra his approach that ‘an idea without insight is just a guess’, and puts the curiosity of audiences at the heart of its solutions. An active member of MEFA and currently serving as a Bloom Exchanger, Darren is an avid advocate for the advancement of EDI within the marketing industry and wider creative world, and is passionate about driving change through thought-leadership, campaigning, and mentoring. When he’s not in work mode you’ll find him either cheering on his beloved Aston Villa, attempting to defy his age at festivals or trying to keep all the females in his household happy, whether they be human, canine or bunny in form.
