Navigate Video’s Top 3 Non-UK Christmas Ads of 2019
Another ‘Best Of’ Christmas ads list featuring the likes of John Lewis, M&S and McDonalds? We don’t think so.
Even though Excitable Edgar has captured our hearts this year, at Navigate Video, we think it is time to shine a light on the hidden gems of the Christmas ad world that you may have just missed amongst all of the tinsel and fairy lights.
Following on with our annual tradition, we thought we would avoid just another ‘round-up’ of the best Christmas ads you will be seeing again and again this year, and instead shift the focus to some of the creative work from outside the United Kingdom.
So, without further ado and tissues at the ready, here are our top 3 international Christmas adverts of 2019:
‘A NOËL, PARTAGEZ CE QUI COMPTE VRAIMENT’, BOUYGUES TELECOM (FRANCE)
Following on from their successful Christmas ad last year, Bouygues Telecom pulled out all the stops and appealed to our heartstrings once again with their 1 minute and 30 second spot, showcasing a father pretending to be Santa Clause for his daughter, answering her calls day and night to keep the Christmas spirit alive.
NV OPINION: GREAT PACE. IMPACTFUL STORYTELLING. SHOWS PERSONALITY.
‘#UNIDOSPORUNDECIMO’, LOTERIAS Y APUESTAS DEL ESTADO (SPAIN)
The Spanish Christmas Lottery has now become renowned for its Christmas ad, and this year is like no other. Switching up formats, ‘#UnidosPorUnDecimo’ is a series of four 90-second films, focusing on the importance of looking out for one another, whether that’s family, friends, neighbours, carers or even your in-laws.
NV OPINION: STRONG NARRATIVE. SERIALISED CONTENT.
‘SPREAD THE MERRY’, AUSTRALIA POST (AUSTRALIA)
Christmas is one of the most difficult and loneliest times of year for those who have recently lost a loved one. Australia Post’s ad puts this at the core of their ad and shows us how just a little token can help salvage someone’s Christmas spirit.
NV OPINION: EMOTIVE STORYTELLING. SHOWCASING AUTHENTICITY. CHRISTMAS SPIRIT.
From all of us at Navigate Video, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
