|Role:||Digital Content Editor|
Installation and AV Technology Europe are two of the leading trade titles in the fast-growing professional audiovisual industry. They form a key part of Future’s global AV portfolio that includes North American titles AV Technology, Systems Contractor News, Residential Systems, Digital Signage, and Sound and Video Contractor.
Installation serves the AV channel: systems integrators, installers, distributors, consultants, as well as influencers including architects and interior designers. Through in-depth features, interviews, solutions case studies and more, it gives its readers an understanding of the evolving technologies in the permanent AV installation marketplace, as well as the industry issues and sector trends affecting the AV channel.
AV Technology Europe is focused on the AV end user market: it has been specifically created to educate and inform senior decision makers and technology managers. It bypasses the hype and gets straight to the heart of the issues affecting the industry with unique coverage of the latest advances in AV operations and installations, through to the application of disruptive technologies throughout the corporate AV workflow.
Both titles have a portfolio that comprises a magazine, up-to-the minute website, email newsletters, social media, targeted e-shots and an expanding range of events, including an annual awards ceremony.
Installation is also the official Show Daily partner to the pro AV industry’s biggest trade show, ISE. Along with Future’s content director, the editorial team will play an active role in the production and delivery of four live daily newspapers on each day of the show in Amsterdam in February, as well as a preview edition and a series of dedicated newsletters.
The AV group is overseen by a group editor and a deputy editor working across both titles. The digital content editor role will report into the group editor, with a dotted line into the deputy editor.
Job Summary & Purpose
With the pro AV market undergoing a buoyant phase in its growth curve, Future is seeking to bolster the quality and capacity of its AV group by hiring a talented and motivated journalist or editor in the key position of digital content editor.
The digital content editor will be responsible for the creation and management of each brand’s digital and social content, tailoring bespoke news, information and analysis for each audience in collaboration with the editorial team. The role will require a mix of market research, engagement with industry figures, and management of inbound information to build a daily flow of high quality content across all AV group channels.
The role will preside over the management and delivery of all content-driven newsletters, as well as each brand’s social output, where directed. The digital content editor will also play an active role in the production of magazines for both titles, providing sub-editing and proofing assistance to the editorial team as well as having responsibility for the creation of feature-based and ad-hoc content.
Brand representation at key events, trade shows, and client meetings will also form part of the responsibilities of the role, meaning that a certain amount of international travel is required. The role will have a key position on the ISE Daily team before and during the event in Amsterdam in February.
The ideal candidate will be a proven trade journalist or editor with experience in technology-based marketplaces, boasting an aptitude for creating and working with technical material and communicating it in a palatable manner fit for the audience. Previous AV experience is preferred, but not essential. The candidate will be expected to regularly engage in client-facing discussions with the sales team, therefore a sound understanding of the commercial side of the business is desired.
