The brief called for a complete transformation of the Renaultsport website to bring it up to date and deliver a user experience as thrilling as its high- performance road cars.
The objective was to design and build a platform that would give Renault the ability to showcase its products while engaging customers through community features and editorial content.
From a design point of view, a key challenge was to develop a look and feel that is at once recognisable as Renault, but then to elevate that to a place that excites fans of the Renaultsport sub-brand.
This was achieved by delivering an interface design that is an extension of Renault’s corporate brand identity with the addition of new typefaces and interface elements. Tapping into Renaultsport’s fanbase, August Media produced a highly visual responsive design that makes use of large, dynamic imagery and graphical site elements.
Content was key to the design solution, using a ‘module approach’ to facilitate different content types (text, images, countdown mechanisms, social-media blocks and championship results).
A number of interaction features have been incorporated to give users feedback as they navigate through the interface, delivering an engaging and visceral user experience in keeping with the strategic brand objectives.
