The brief

Healthspan came to us seeking to improve their SEO situation. Their rankings had taken a huge hit as a result of Google’s Penguin algorithm, so they needed to vastly improve their search visibility.

Moreover Healthspan needed support with their existing digital strategy and their in-house team.

With that in mind our SEO and content marketing team was tasked to get the brand back at the top of of the search engine result pages, as well as to increase the brand’s organic search market share.

The challenge

Healthspan needed a solid digital strategy to make content central towards building the Healthspan brand online. We needed to create a clear SEO and content marketing strategy around the highly-competitive nutrition sector.

We hired nutritionists as writers to support content creation and constructed a range of creative content campaigns to support the Healthspan brand and promote alongside expert articles.


With that in mind we successfully removed the Google Penguin penalty – following link analysis, removal and lots of in-depth documentation to support our reconsideration requests.

We delivered a 144% year on year increase in organic performance whilst reducing Healthspan’s reliance on paid search spend. Being so in-depth required plenty of research, image sourcing, and of course creative content production which secured coverage in 93 high quality publishers including Cosmo, Mail Online, The Telegraph, Marie Claire and others.

All our hard work did pay off with a happy Healthspan team and 2 UK Search Awards nominations for ‘Best Use of Search’ and ‘Best Use of Content Marketing’.
